Walton-Verona 2011

Featured Replies

What does Walton-Verona need to do to improve in 2011? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

This will be the first season for the Bearcats in 2A and playing in the south district. The Bearcats return the core of their backfield with the despite the loss of Bob Baumgartner. The Bearcats have alot of young players that need to step up this year. High numbers in the weight room I hear, so that would indicate moral is high.

From what I understand, I hear that WV will be competitive this year and next, and may possibly break out in 2013 and establish itself as a local small school power.

This year, they will need to find a way to stay in the game late, and hope to develop a playmaker or two for some late game heroics. I think they will be fine.

They have playmakers returning with a senior qb, 1,000 yard rusher, and a 800 yard rusher. On the line is where they are going to need some young and unproven players to step up. Yes the future appears bright for WV.:thumb:

I saw Walton play 3 times last year and each time I was impressed with their offense. They have alot returning from what I seen in their program. They have a very good coaching staff and one that cares to make their players better. I see good things in the future for Walton and with the growth in Walton and youth league's will only get better. Wish them the best of luck in 2A. JD

I hear Walton has good numbers for their offseason program even without a lot of baseball and track athletes. I know they lost a lot up front which is always a concern, but they should have another productive season if everyone puts the time in over the summer and stays healthy. They aren't in position to "reload" yet, but a successful "rebuilding" year will go a long way in establishing a top flight program.
