Boone Co. (6-3) -- Moss 24, Switzer 11, Nash 8, Shrout 15, Browning 9, Hickman 4.

Marion Co. (7-2) -- Goodin-Rogers 10, Epps 37, Elder 13, Tonge 8, Calhoun.

Great game to watch! Boone County jumped out to a big lead and then Marion County woke up and whittled away at that lead behind tough pressure and an incredible second half by Mikayla Epps. Marion County tied the game with 2 seconds in regulation on a deep right corner 3 by Epps.

In OT Sydney Moss made several nice passes to teammates for buckets and the Lady Rebels led by one and Marion County had the ball. Their coach called a timeout with 14 seconds to go..........but didn't have one. After some discussion, and confirmation from the official scorer that the Lady Knights had indeed exhausted their timeouts, a technical was called.

Coach Fookes sent Moss to the line to shoot the T and Sydney, who had missed two at the end of regulation that would have clinched the win, calmly dropped both and Boone survived another Epps goal with an additional free throw to hold on for the win.

Outstanding performances by Epps, who simply didn't miss in the second half and dictated the comeback, and by Moss who dominated the glass with 21 boards in addition to her 24 points. Sydney also helped her team break the Lady Knights pressure and demonstrated her best intensity of the season. She was gassed at the end after her recent bout with a virus that cost her the first game of the tournament but hung tough.

Boone County also got good performances from all its starters and some key play from reserve Crissy Hickman. The Lady Rebels were again without starting PG Jessica Jones who will be evaluated again soon for her concussion suffered in the first game of the Republic Bank Classic.

Bre Elder was also very good for the Lady Knights and is tough to handle when she goes to work. The Lady Knights, at least in the second half, played much better than in their loss yesterday to Sacred Heart.

Coach Jeff Walz of Louisville was in attendance and surely enjoyed what he saw from several of the game's DI prospects.

Very nice update Frank, well done.

Moss is a very smooth player. She is quick to think and strong enough to complete the play. Hope to see her again at Diddle in March.
