Any chance Steve Pardue of Lagrange (GA) comes back to KY?

Featured Replies

For those of you unfamiliar, Lagrange High School (GA) coach Steve Pardue has stepped down as the coach of the Grangers. This is the school that has produced UK players Quentin McCord, Wesley Woodyard, Braxton Kelley, Demoreo Ford, Mychal Bailey, Qua Huzzie, Tristian Johnson, Patrick Simmons, Joe Mansour, along with many others. Coach Pardue is a native of Kentucky (WKY I believe) and has done nothing but dominate in GA.

My first thought is that he may take a position with UK. My second thought is that he may come back home. Anyone familiar with him curious as to whether he'd give the high school ranks in KY a go? He only appears to be i his late 40's or early 50's. I highly doubt he has hung the whistle up.

Mr. Pardue, Hopkinsville High on line one.

I hate to speculate on coaches futures, partiularly high school, but college too; especially those who are at our state schools. But, I got a feeling that Joker is fixing to shake things up a bit, moving Chuck Smith to a higher role and sliding Pardue in at Recruiting Coordinator/position coach to be named later.

Why not? Pardue has kept the LaGrange pipeline to UK going for several years now, he has a massive amount of respect throughout the talen rich state of Georgia and he's also big buddies with Joker off the field. Yeah, this is what I'm putting my money on.

There aren't, but a handfull, if that many high schools in KY that value football like LaGrange and the rest of GA. Down there you get paid 100K+ a year to practically just coach football (even though other "teaching" duties are assigned throughout the day). I don't see the Hoptown thing happening. Then again, you can't necissarily put a pricetag on returning home, either.

I also thought about Joker and his staff Harry. Joker has made it known he wants coaches who recruit and who knows that area of Georgia better than Pardue.

Yep, not only is Steve well thought of throughout the entire state of Georgia, he is really respected in West/SW Georgia. For instance in Troupe County alone, you have Lagrange and Troupe County HS. Both have put out many players. About 30 minutes away you have Columbus which features powerhouse Carver and one of the best RB in america as well as a current UK commit Riyhad Jones. Throw in SE Bama too and we could have quite a pipeline.
