This game was much closer than the final score would indicate. With 10:22 to go in the game the score was 34-28 HC.

 

GRC came back and scored on their first three possessions of the second half and nearly overcame a 21-7 halftime.

 

Harris intercepted a pass by Miller on the Blue Devils’ first possession of the second half that set up Dini’s 17-yard touchdown pass to Skinner on a fourth-down play.

Clark converted five straight first-downs on the drive that narrowed the margin to 21-14.

Henry Clay struck back 41 seconds later on the ensuing kickoff when Miller scored on an 89-yard kickoff return, pushing the margin to 28-14.

Clark responded with another successful drive, this time Dini crossed the goal line with an 8-yard run. Clark converted a fourth-and-20 during the series when Dini completed a 25-yard completion to Corey Rogers.

Miller struck again on the next series, throwing a 42-yard pass to Green, setting up his own 29-yard touchdown run for a 34-21 advantage.

Harris scored on a 25-yard touchdown run with 10:22 remaining that narrowed the gap to 34-28, but the Cards couldn’t get any closer.

Simpson wasn’t surprised by Clark’s comeback attempt in the second half. “I knew this was going to be a fight,” he said. “I know they had struggles, but if they don’t turn the ball over, they’re tough to beat. For us to come to come over here and beat them here was a big win for us.”

When they could have packed it up, they just kept fighting, hats off to the GRC team. #81 Corey Rogers is one heck of a player with one heck of a motor, and #10 Dini just kept making plays. He had a handful of dropped passes that would have made a difference in the game. HC is a much more explosive offense with Miller at QB, this kid is a beast. HC's linebackers and secondary are inexperienced and got torched all night, unless they get this under control they will just have to outscored their opponents.

EKU staff of 4 or 5 was there to watch Cory Friday. He is a beast on the basketball floor too. Starts Center for the Cards. This is Dini's 3rd year at QB. Both are seniors.\

Saw HC play early in the year and the defense was a mess.....they still having trouble running the ball? I seem to recall they tried a ton of screen passes.

They ran the ball very well against us Friday. They had 2 players that had been out and their return has made a big differnece. They have played in the last two games.

Cory Rogers reminds me of Tristan Jones (Who plays for WKU) who played at GRC several years ago. Both have size, speed, power. I think it would be great to see Cory play in Richmond!
