At the half, it was BGHS 30, Tilghman 7. Yes, the shutout streak came to an end very early in the second quarter, as BGHS lost a fumble very deep in their territory, then Michael Jones took it in from the BGHS seven on the first play.

In the first quarter, junior K Casey Tinius hit a 42 yd FG to put the Purples up 3-0 at the 6:34 mark in the first. Then Jones' short TD run put Tilghman up 7-3 with less than one minute gone in the second quarter. However, if people who claim they know BGHS Football REALLY know BGHS Football, they know that the stellar defense isn't the only thing outstanding about the team. At 10:30 left in the first half, Avery Hibbitt went on a 61 yd romp. Tinius booted the PAT, and the Purples were back up 10-7. Then, with 8:33 left in the half, junior HB Anthony Jones went on a 58 yd jaunt himself (his only attempt of the first half!). Tinius missed only his second PAT attempt of the year to date, and BGHS was up 16-7. Hibbitt scored again, this time from one yard out with 5:29 left in the half. Tinius was successful again, and the Purples were up 23-7. That score left Hibbitt with exactly 200 points on the season, the first time it's ever been done at BGHS! With 1:05 left before halftime, the Tilghman C snapped the ball over the head of the punter, and senior WR/DB Chip Wilkins snatched up the ball and scored. Tinius booted the PAT again, and the Purples went to the locker room with a 30-7 lead.

After a scoreless third period, Tinius kicked his second FG of the game, this time from 27 yards out, and the Purples lead 33-7 with 7:30 left in the game.
