Lafayette 21 George Rogers Clark 9

Congrats to Lafayette. GRC did not score in the second half. Penalties killed GRC tonight.

Clark racks up 15 penalties for a loss of 104 yards in 21-9 setback. Clark scored on its opening drive, but mustered just three points during the remainder of the contest and failed to take advantage of a solid defensive showing. Clark limited the Generals to just 173 yards and forced a fumble in the third quarter, but couldn’t convert with the Generals clinging to a 14-9 advantage.

Congrats to the Generals for the big win.

All the Penalties finally caught up to GRC. Got to get these items under control for next week's game.

This game was called very tight on one side and Lafayette was given too many breaks. Most of the penalties against the Generals were non factor calls where GRC was called for several game changing penalties. It is hard even for the fine atheletes GRC has to overcome bad coaching and bad officiating to win, a few breaks and a few more caught passes and they would have pulled it off in spite of the officials.

The one the announcers really questioned was when Pokey Harris broke lose and ran to the 13 yard line. As soon as he broke loses, flags starting flying. 3 flags were thrown, one was holding in the back on GRC, the other 2, the announcers never did find out what they were ???

The late hit on Dini after he punted would have given GRC a first down and then a few after the whistle hits were never called even though they were obviously late.

Announcers did mention the late hit on Dini and the GRC staff wanting something called.

This is all ironic because this officiating crew is the same one that called the Central-Lafayette game earlier this season. There was a lot of controversy over calls made toward the end of the game. Supposedly, this crew was not to call any Lafayette games this season.

In whose favor were those calls going? It was obvious last night they were swallowing the whistles on a lot of calls. Granted GRC does get some penalties in a game but the whistles for Lafayatte when they were obvious calls were not there!

I'm not saying there weren,t some missed calls last night. Just that tree weeks ago the Lafayette people were just as frustrated. I do agree the timing of some ofthe calls were more against GRC this time.

I was unable to be at the game or catch it on the radio, does anyone have a breakdown of what the penalties were (for both teams)?

Just curious on how GRC was poorly coached? I wasn't there and read in an earlier reply that GRC had to overcome both poor officiaiting and coaching. Just curious on the specifics.
