Hopkinsville 6 Henderson County 0

Featured Replies

Hopkinsville wins its first Region 2 Championship in 24 years. Hopkinsville pitchers pitched 3 shutouts in the regional tourney, with the team outscoring opponents 30-0. Justin Hageman struck out 12 last night. Hutton White made an incredible throw from right field to get out a runner at home in the 2nd, in what ended up being a pivotal defensive play in the game. Josh Drake hit an inside the park home run. Great overall effort by the Tigers and first-year coach Randy Harrell!:ylsuper:

The ball taking a bad bounce over Sam Higgs head to allow Drake to touch all four is what broke Henderson's back. That gave Hoptown a 4-0 or 5-0 (can't remember) lead and Henderson could never get back in the game. Congrats to Hoptown on the title. Good luck the rest of the way.

Yes, that was a crazy bounce, for sure. Were you there last night, woodsrider? It was sure a big crowd!

No, I listened to it on the radio. I didn't get off in time to get down there.

They called that an inside-the-park homer by Drake? Pretty generous scoring. I would have said single and error. The outfield at Hopkinsville did seem to have some weird hops.

The Henderson baserunner got an awful jump on the ball before being thrown out at the plate.

Hageman was impressive ... four hits, two walks and 12 Ks. A Twins scout had him consistently at 87-88 on his radar gun.

Hopkinsville could be a factor at the state tournament.
