:dancingpa The Lady ‘Stangs (17-3) were on a mission when they traveled to Scott High School Thursday night.

When they beat Scott a week or so ago comments were made in the Enquirer by Scott that they should have won 1-0 following Brossart’s 3-1 win. In that game Brossart outhit the Lady Eagles 8-2 and Scott only had one baserunner after the second inning.

The team wanted to show who was the best team without any question this time and took care of business beating Scott (8-11) in Taylor Mill 9-0 allowing the Lady Eagles only two hits again. Junior pitcher Alicia Miller (16-3) went the distance striking out 11 while helping herself with three hits.

The lady ‘Stangs struck first in the second when Miller singled and was replaced by courtesy runner Maria Greis. Krista Kennedy’s liner to center plated Greis and it was 1-0. In the third Brossart knocked out starter Williamson (now 3-6) with a five run explosion.

Lindsay Griffith opened with a hit followed by a walk to Jenna Bezold, Molly Williams plated one with a single and then Miller singled to load the bases. Emily Schubert plated one with a sharp sacrifice to first and then consecutive singles by Carmen Enzweiler and Kennedy plated runs as well. Paige Baynum comncluded the shock and awe with a sacrifice fly to make it 6-0.

Back they came in the fourth again. Sporting their new white helmets, Griffith singled again and went to third on a Bezold single. Williams hit a deep sacrifice fly to score Griffith and then and long double by Schubert made it 8-0. They tacked on the final run in the seventh when Schubert tripled and scored on another single by Enzweiler. The Lady ‘Stangs had completed their mission.

In the junior varsity game in which Scott would only play three innings, Brossart scored one in the first when Lindsey Brossart scored on a Erin Franke hit and added three in the second on three errors, a walk and three passed balls. The final two runs raced home in the third on error, hit batter and two passed balls and wild pitches. So Brossart won 6-1 in three innings on one hit. Franke pitched well three hits and one run striking out four. They are now 9-5
