No violation at all; that's why I'm all for the whole public display angle. It all comes down to free speech for me. If folks want to make donkeys of themselves, I'm all for helping them pay the consequences.

 

I don't respect any group's racism. But I'm more than happy to give them enough rope to hang themselves. Especially publicly.

To me it just doesn't seem like something to raise cane about.

 

It was a ugly time in U.S. history that doesn't need to be brought up. Plus, why do Southerners have to celibrate someting they lost. It's like inviting all the girls that dumped you to one big paty. I just don't get it.

My great grandfather fought in the Civil War.

My grandfather was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy.

He died in the 1980's.

We share the same first name and last name.

So, for some reason, I get all of his mail from the Sons of the Confederacy.

I usually pass on the catalogs with their view of the Civil War to our history teachers so that they may buy something with the viewpoint of the other side.

Never bought one but usually peruse whatever I received while visiting Dad's library and then toss it.

From the titles and the synopsis, much of what I read has a strong racist tone to it.

 

Got one last week that they needed 900 orders for specialty license plates before the state would make one. After over a year or so, they have about 200 orders. I would say that is a good message that not many people are supporting them.

 

They also said that membership numbers are dropping drastically. Another seemingly strong message that people are not supporting them.
