North Oldham Basketball Coach Search

Featured Replies

Just from an outsider looking in, it looks like there is too many parents that have power or a great deal of influence on the administration.

Edelen has been a steadying influence at NO. There has to be some issue with parents or at least administration if he was asked to step down. He has rumpled some feathers somewhere to remove such a good coach.

It really isn't appropriate for me to discuss publicly unless my name is Tom Clemons (the North A.D.) or Danny Edelen (the former coach). (neither fits)

I'm good friends with Danny and I've covered North Oldham sports ever since the school opened, and I'm aware of the concerns the school had. But it's not my place to discuss someone else's personnel issues in public.

Fair enough

Coach Edelen will/has poured his heart and soul into whatever program he is associated with. I have known him since he coached at Waggener. He did a great job there, and was doing a great job at NO. He consistently gets the most out of his players. He is very demanding- but show me a successful basketball coach that isn't!!

He loved NO and I have no doubt that he was turning them into a consistent regional contender!! Good luck trying to find a coach- who wants to go into a situation where you don't know year to year if you are going to have a job!!

Good luck Coach!!!

Has the school decided on a coach to hire for the job yet?

According to the local paper, the admin will be in Lexington this week networking.

"NOHS principal Lisa Jarrett said school officials will begin the search for a new coach while the boys’ state tourney takes place in Lexington and likely candidates are there watching the tourney."
