South outscored Anderson by a little in every quarter to pull away to the win...

 

Anderson County, playing without Will Ruggles, sought to turn the game into a "grind-it-out" affair - only to find out that South could play that game, too.

 

The strategy was probably a good strategy - Anderson wasn't likely to be able to run with South - but it ultimately backfired, as South made their free throws.

 

Meanwhile, Anderson County misfired at the line over and over all night.

 

But the key was likely the South Oldham defense, which forced over 20 Anderson County turnovers (more than twice as many turnovers as South had). The press forced several turnovers, but the half-court defense also seemed to befuddle Anderson.

 

Congrats to Glen Drury and the Bearcats on another great year...and kudos to the Dragons as they move to 26-5 and advance to the region semis vs. Gallatin County!
