South Oldham 54 North Oldham 39

Featured Replies

South Oldham opened up a 31-19 halftime lead and never looked back, ultimately leading by as much as 20 before settling for a 15 point win.

South's Jordann McGuffin scored 11 points - exactly the amount she needed to reach the 1,000 point milestone for her career. Timeout was called, the North Oldham PA announcer acknowledged the accomplishment, and she got a well-earned standing ovation. The schools gave her the ball, which I thought was very nice.

Defense told the tale of the tape. South forced (unofficially) 29 turnovers, and North simply could not get into an offensive rhythm in the half-court. Entry passes to the post were practically impossible, and the Lady Mustangs found their best offense came during their rare fast-break opportunities.

At the half, with the score 31-19 South, the Lady Dragons had taken nearly 3 times as many shots as North (35 vs. 12).

South improves to 10-6 and 3-0 in district play, clinching the #1 seed in the 29th district tournament, to be played at North Oldham.

North falls to 9-6 and 0-2 in district play, with one district seeding game remaining against Trimble. A win against the Lady Raiders puts the Lady Mustangs in a district tournament first round game vs. the Oldham County Lady Colonels. A loss to Trimble results in a first round matchup with South Oldham, the #1 seed.

an expected result. Turnovers are the key stat whenever you play South Oldham IMO.
