Fairly big matchup planned for tomorrow night, Thursday, as the Eagles(?) of Villa Madonna take their 9-3 record on the road to the friendly confines of St. Henry to take on the 9-4 Crusaders. A big district matchup to say the least.

Looking at Villa schedule doesn't tell me much about their wins while the Lady Cru have played a little up and down this year in regards to consistency.

Anyone have any thoughts on this matchup?

One interesting aspect of this matchup is that three top-scoring seniors from Villa (Blue Lightning, by the way)--Schroer, Case and Kreutzer, have played for the past 6-7 years on the same AAU team (Club Cougars) as Gamm and Janzen of St. Henry. So, obviously, these players know each other very well.

Watched this match up last year and it was a very strange game with all of these friends squaring off. If I am not mistaken this game has seeding significance so the players had best forget about friends and lace em up for a very important battle. Play hard and good luck to both teams.

Can't see Villa hanging around the whole way -- St Henry wins, but fans the edge of the seat...

You are exactly correct...this game has SIGNIFICANT seeding implications as both teams look to be real good early.

Had no idea about the "friend" angle, very interesting but all the more reason for the girls to lace 'em up tight and hit the floor hard.

Not sure what the weather is going to do to all this. If school is cancelled for either team, does that mean no game?

According to the St. Henry school website, the game has been postponed.
