Scott 59 Clinton County 55

Cameron Haynes hits some big free throws in this one. I am curious, maybe some of the Eagle fans can answer this question, would this kid's father be Chris Haynes? Chris Haynes was one of the best players to ever come out of Scott HS leading the Eagles to a 9th Region Championship back in the early 90's.

From the Lexington Herald Leader

Covington Scott 59, Clinton County 55: The closing seconds were scary for Scott, but it managed to hold on. The Eagles led 56-54 when they missed a pair of free throws with 27 seconds left, but Clinton County couldn't take advantage.

Sawyer Stalcup, who had hit a three-pointer from the right corner to make it a two-point game, misfired from the same spot with 18 seconds left. The Bulldogs got the rebound, but Will Parrish missed a three from the left wing.

Scott's Cameron Haynes hit a pair of foul shots with 12 seconds left to all but seal it.

Kellen Smith's 15 points and 11 assists led the winners. Jake Niederegger had 13 points, and Keylo Jones added 12 points and six rebounds.

Clinton County point guard Storm Burchett had 17 points, five rebounds and five assists. Brandon Durham had 16 points and five rebounds.
