1st round game of the Republic Bank Classic at Lex Catholic on Sunday. Any thoughts or predictions on this one?

Will the Birds finally have a full lineup in this one?

Read on another board that they will be down 2 maybe 3 starters. Grubbs out of town for the holidays, another out with a bad knee and another might be out with a concussion.

Can't confirm any of this, just reportibg the info from the other board.

With or without Grubbs and Kowolonek, I still think the Birds beat PCC.

The Birds will rebound after the one they took on the chin from Newport.

Highlands by 8-12.

I think Perry Co Central will be tough in this one. Allan hatcher is an excellent coach and appears to have his team playing well (7 wins - 0 losses). I hope Stephen Kowolonek is back for the Birds, but without Grubbs this could be a very tough task.

If you have never seen a Hatcher team, be ready for good defense and many different sets with a ton of movement. No fun to guard and less fun to score against. If Hatcher has them in this tourney, he probably feels it is a pretty good bunch that he is coaching.

I doubt he would bring a bunch of Nimrods to Lexington.

Latest reports I have heard are that Kowolonek would be ready to go for the Tourney and Grote is back but not sure how rusty he will be. Grubbs is the only question mark. I know he was out for the Tuesday Newport game but he may have only spent a week down in TX visiting relatives. If he is back then they should be at full strength.

Any news on whether or not Tyler Grubbs is back from Texas and playing today?

He will not be playing today or for the entire tournament.

Thanks for the info. Good Luck to the Birds today.

Perry Central has a very solid team. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them come away with the victory...

They have a big boy on their squad also in Dillon Cornette who was voted to the CJ All state team I saw.
