The 1969 Tiger state championship team is being honored also. Some people think this might have been the Tigers best team ever. They were St. X's first undefeated team and can claim that they never trailed in a game all season. Don't know how many teams can make that statement. They beat an incredibly talented Butler team 15-0 in the champioship game. Butler walloped Trinity in the championship the next year 20-0.

The 1969 was certainly one of the very best but the 1999 team was my all time favorite team. I did not miss a game that season.

The thing about the 99 team was that it trailed at some time in every game in the playoffs, and won them all. Beat some pretty talented teams along the way. Ironically, X is playing CovCath tonight, the only team to beat the 99 team.

It was played at Lex. Cath. and the Tigers had a couple of key players out of that game. The games against Hopkinsville and Bryan Station were among the very best games I have ever seen.
