Williamsburg 46 Berea 36

Final. Williamsburg 1-0 in district play after the win.

Williamsburg is a mash unit. Moses is doing a great job holding them togeather. J.P. Payne is growing up. They missed Pettit on both sides of the ball. Hopefully they can get by Clinton County and get some of the wounded back for the stretch run. Collins has been a warrior this year on both sides of the ball. Berea played hard and are well coached but still don't have the horses. They have some very good athletes but overall are small. I see them being much better next year. #3 ran by Williamsburg all night and 7 will be a force on D. They could well be competitive in the district next year.

That was a trap game for Williamsburg and they got by it, congrats on a good win for them. I think they are still the favorite in the district.

I figured W'burg would pull this one out. They still have the personnel to score on you.

I disagree, Blazer. I think Campbellsville is now firmly in the driver's seat for the district.

I think that LC, Williamsburg and Berea are playing for second at this point....

I can see how you could make an arguement for that but I think that Williamsburg's ablility to score makes them more the favorite. If they continue to get kids back they will continue to get better. The difference is that they do play at Campbellsville, but to be honest I like Herron in the big game much better than Chapell.

I think that LC could give Williamsburg fits rushing the ball, but Williamsburg has more speed and could give LC fits on the outside with the pass, I just don't know if they can contain them, as Hazard really has been the only team to do that. Had Williamsburg not had the injuries that they have had, I think their record would be better and then I think more people would see them as the favorite, but they have to get some of those kids back and it looks like they are going to.

BUT, when you are getting kids back that have had big injuries, you can't automatically put a lot of stock in them. Trust me on this one. We've been a MASH unit for 3 solid years. You take what they can give you when they come back, but don't count on them to be what they were earlier.

The Eagles will be tough for W'burg, Berea and Clinton to take out. They are athletic and fast, too. I think that the line play for C'ville will make the difference between the Jackets and Eagles. Once again, JMO.

#7 for Berea is a sophomore, he is Mike Whitakers nephew.

He is a good looking athlete and probably should handle the ball on offense the next two years.
