Russell ahead 14-6 at the half. Russell's Travis Jones has 170 yards rushing so far.

West Carter hanging in there. Cundiff with a TD run.

14-12 Russell

Keep us posted thanks!

This is not a very good Russell team. When is the last time the area was this down? Seems like Ashland, Lawrence, Rowan and maybe a few others are the only teams that are really good in the Ashland area. I have never seen the teams a little and small as they are this year.

I can't say that this is the best West team that I have seen either. They play hard but some of their success is due to the fact that no one else is that good either. They may end up with one of WC's better records but I just don't see that they are that much better than the last few years. Just an honest assesstment here.

Also, the Jones kid from Russell has been impressive IMO. Aside from that I haven't seen a Russell team that is as undisciplined as this one.

I don't know that we ever have that many teams in our area who really have a chance to go far into the playoffs.

Ashland has the best shot this year, but unfortunately they have to run into a team that just beat one of the top teams in the NATION tonight!

I wonder myself what has happened to the weights at Russell as this is a pretty small team. Jones has stood out, though.

As for the game, Russell just got their first 1st down of the 2nd half with about 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter. West Carter has dominated the half. West Carter has the ball with 7 minutes to go in the game.

Score?

Still 14-12...Russell leads

West Carter is punting with 5 minutes left

Thanks.

Jones tears off another long run to get Russell into West Carter territory...BUT Russell's drive is stifled once again at the West Carter 30 with 3:00 left. West Carter takes over on downs.

Cline runs it to Russell 46. West Carter has it 1st and 10

4th and 17 for West Carter on the Russell 43. This play looks like the ballgame.

Incomplete pass for West Carter. Russell takes over on downs.

Looks like Travis Jones and the Russell defense are going to be the MVP's of this one for Russell.
