LCA looks poised to Challenge for State Golf Title!!

Featured Replies

Lexington Christian Academy looks like they will challenge St. X for the State Golf Title. LCA won the tourney in Morehead this weekend which St. X played. You better be five deep to challenge one of these two schools in Bowling Green although the first step for all schools is to get to Bowling Green.:idunno::idunno::idunno: Who is 5 deep that will challenge?

Watch out for West Jessamine if they get hot. They are five deep, only thing is they are very young. Heard the 7th grader Conner Haas shot 77 at Eagle Trace. That is pretty darn good from the tips considering he only weighs 60 pounds. Just think, in another year he will be able to shoot his weight.......

Nobody in the state can hang with St. X or LCA this year. West Jessamine has a nice team but is too young in my opinion. WJ does however pretty much have a cakewalk into the state tournament unlike LCA and St. X.

LCA shot -8 as a team at Eagle Trace which is very strong. St. X actually got 3rd in the tournament. Greenup Co. shot -3 as a team. Those are very nice scores.

Being Hot at the right time will bring a competitor to the top. "We Are" Marshall County came out and stunned the field 2 years ago. A two day tournament is different than a one day sprint to the finish on a course the players of certain teams may know well. My source says that West Jess was up on Greenup head to head for the year and WJ also beat St. X at Kearney. WJ is a very young team and could get hot at the right time. No one has a "Cake Walk" anytime you tee it UP! Is there any team in the western part of the state that could get hot???

If West Jessamine doesn't win there region this year, something is wrong and it will prove a young team can't get it done when it counts.

I don't know about the golf in WKY this year. I know St. Mary's won the All A, but that's it.

Looks like the Young Guns got it done. 8th grader Fred Allen Meyer posted 1 over and runner up overall.
