Etiquette question regarding my son’s first birthday

Featured Replies

I agree completely. Immediate family and close friends. You have to have a cake just for the child. We had a #1 cake for both my chldrens first birthday, and they have a blast with it. We were cleaning cake out of their hair for a few days afterward. They don't remember it but it makes for good pictures and they really like to see the pictures whan they get older. Both my kids 11 and 7 love to look at old pics and just laugh at themselves.

I agree, this is memory making moments you will cherish for a life time.

We had the party today, twenty-one or two people, not an exact count, close family and friends. I think it went really well, we had food for everyone and my baby boy had a great time. He did however, not go for the little cake we got for him, we have trained him to well, he refused to put his hand in it

Everyone was waiting for him to dig in and it never happened. :D

The party was a great success in my eyes, my wife was happy and my son had fun, that was all that mattered to me. Thanks for all the advice I got here, I appreciate it.
