Berea made a late stop on Clinton County to hold on for an eight point victory. The Pirates took an early lead before allowing Clinton County back into the game.

The victory was the first district win for Berea since finishing the 2005 season with a 39-38 win over Bath County. The Pirates went winless in the district in 2006 before playing as an indepedent in 2007 and 2008.

Clinton County seems to be much improved. The Bulldogs lost to Berea by 24 last season, finishing 1-10 with an average margin of -33. After several years of building a new program it looks like things might be better in Albany.

This slipped under my radar somehow. I did not know that these two were playing a district game already. This means Berea will be #1 in the district by themselves for a few weeks......

They likely clinched a playoff berth.

I think so.
