Cooper Basketball Team Camp

Featured Replies

They have 8 teams attending (mostly from NKY) and are doing a nice job running the camp. Very nice facility and good format.

Teams attending are:

1. Cooper

2. St. Henry

3. Beechwood

4. Grant Co.

5. Carroll Co.

6. Dayton

7. Villa

8. Gallatin Co.

Games start at 5:30 every night and each team plays 2x.

I will be there tonight. Makes it hard when you have one playing somewhere else.

What is the format of the tournament Friday? Does anyone know.

Cooper has really improved this year. They will have a much better season I believe.

Grant County is 4-0 and has looked good so far. They play hard and appear to have a renewed desire to win.

What are Carroll and Gallatin Co. teams looking like so far this year?

From what I understand, Gallatin County is doing well without Brooke Hill. She's not at this camp. The Lady Wildcats are VERY YOUNG!! Haven't heard about Carroll. That would be L1!!:thumb:

You are correct buttels, Gallatin is doing well without Hill. I was very surprised of the way the girls played so far this week with victories over St. Henry, Cooper, Beechwood and Dayton.

Why isn't Hill playing?

Hill is out of town. The Lady Cats are playing real well this summer for as young as they are this year.

I think having players missing this time of year for vacations, etc is sometimes a good thing for a team. You have opportunities to try combinations of players that you typically would not if all are present, especially a starter.

Gallatin finishes the week at 6-2.

I agree with you. I was just answering a previous post about why Hill was out.

I didn't mean anything directly toward Hill or Gallatin in particular. I was just thinking about summer ball in general & how players not participating for one reason or another can make for interesting contests between schools.

Carroll looked good, they won the Camp tournament tonight without 2 starters. I was very surprised at how well the young girls played and I saw a lot of teams that are really improving and working hard.

It was a really good camp and all the teams definitely got enough games in this week. GC definitely missed Hill but just like CC it was nice to see all the other girls step up.

Good luck to all the teams on the rest of their Summer ball!
