The Henry Clay/Lexington Catholic matchup is the only interesting first round game. I would say Bryan Station/Madison Central would be interesting, but LCA will handle whatever team in the second round. With Franklin County getting a semifinal bye (sorry Model), they'll be able to save their ace, Thompson, for the Clay/Catholic winner.

From my understanding, FC will save Thompson for the championship game gambling on round 2 that they can win. According to some sources close to the program, the coaching staff believes there best chance is to throw #2 against HC or LC and save #1 for LCA. I can see both sides of the equation but imo I think u should worry about one game at a time. However, if you are trying to win it, u have to go with a plan to win 3 games instead of just 2. LCA is in the same situation. Will they throw #1 or #2 against BS/MC winner? Both of them could save their aces and get beat, meaning neither of them will get to throw.

I'm telling you, if Henry Clay beats Catholic and Franklin throws their #2 at them, they'll be sorry. This strategy will not work. It is confirmed. McDonald has told the local newspaper what his pitching rotation will be and it looks like Sturgill will start game 1 for 2 innings to get used to the mound and facility. He will start game 2 vs. HC or LC and they are holding Thompson for the finals against LCA (unless BS can pull off the upset.)
