FANOFTHE11th Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 Defensive battle. Cumpston gets the win for FC. He had very good control hitting his spots and getting some solid defense behind him. Willis scores from second for FC on a single to left by Ryan Conner. West Jess had one real good opportunity with men on second and third and two outs. Cumpston got the West Jess batter to fly out to end the inning. Solid seven inning pitching effort by Cumpston!!!!!

Except for last years 1-0 loss to Lex Cath in the State Tournament, now that one hurt. It ranked right up there with the 3-2 9 inning loss to Lafeyette in the Semi-State against Chaz Roe and the 13 inning State Tourney loss to PRP in the 1990's.
