Simon/Dixie bracket winners will play at Dixie at 1:00 p.m.

CovCath/NCC bracket winners meet at CovCath at 1:00 p.m.

 

Championship: 5 p.m. Sunday at Simon Kenton.

 

 

 

The CCH/Boone/St. Henry/Cooper bracket is weak compared to the others, as the rest all have 3 solid teams. But given that CCH is the top-ranked team in this area, it's fair they get the weakest bracket. CCH not having to use Isler or Nutini in the first round game is huge. And anyone who says they need to use either of them has not seen St. Henry play this year.

 

Given all the rainouts everyone has endured this year and will continue to face this week, why not play a consolation bracket so everyone gets at least two games? I hate the one-and-out concept, especially in a game like Ryle/Holy Cross or Lloyd/Dixie, where a good team will lose and end its weekend. Maybe some teams will schedule an extra game on their own, because it's all about getting games in at this point.

 

And a disappointing note for Ryle - their prom is Saturday night and many of the players have committments starting around 4:30. Not sure how that will play out if they should advance to the second game on Saturday starting around 3:30 or so.

Coop that's a great idea. I know that CovCath has gotten in eight games this season but they have been rainout or have had canceled a total of eight games counting the game today. At this point in the season hitters need AB and pitchers innings. Great idea...:thumb:

 

This is my favorite baseball tournament to watch, as they use wooden bats and now you can see who can really hit the ball.

Good weather for baseball in April? Who'd have thunk? Heck, I'm just getting used to the rain-every-other-day, 50 degree weather mode we've been stuck in. I'd hate to see some games played in 70-degree sunshine weather. :sssh:

I hear ya, it just seems like this tourny gets rained out alot. I always try to catch a game or two when it doesn't, Doc was a great umpire and a better man.

And right on cue, the forecast for Saturday and Sunday is now calling for rain showers both days, beginning Saturday afternoon.

Sandman where will you be? I will be at the Lloyd vs Dixie on Saturday afternoon. I under stand every is in a holding pattern due to the Class A tourney being behind. JD
