Can anyone confirm who the softball player was that got injured the other night? I heard about the incident, and it sounded very, very scary!

I hope she is doing okay.

Heard about this on the scanner when it happened but still haven't found out who it was.

Same here. I was hoping someone could fill us in.

They said her name was Kayla Cummins and she broke her femur bone while sliding into 3rd. It was said they pinned it and she will be out for 12 months.

Thanks for the name! Yeah, I heard about the injury. It was pretty graphic, as you could see her bone up through her skin when it broke. Someone described the sound as breaking a tree trunk. Her metal cleat got caught in the ground while sliding, her body went forward, and her leg went behind her and resulted in the break.

I hope she's doing okay. She will have to undergo a lot of rehabilitation and physical therapy. What grade was she in?
