Oldham County shot just 2 of 10 (20%) in the first quarter and trailed, 6-4, after one period, but shot 52+% the rest of the game to pull out the win.

Owen County played very patient basketball throughout the first half, and went into the halftime locker room leading by 3 at 18-15 after a last-second three point play.

The Lady Rebels stretched the lead to 6 at 30-24 late in the third - the biggest lead for either team tonight - before the Lady Colonels scored the final six points of the period, sending the two teams into the fourth tied at 30.

Audrie Beaudrie hit two free throws with less than 10 seconds to play to cinch it for the Lady Colonels, 43-40.

Oldham pounded the Lady Rebels on the glass in the second half - unofficially - 18-5, but nearly gave up that advantage with 12 second half turnovers (after turning over the ball just 3 times in the first half).

Emily Lape led Oldham County with a double-double; 17 points and 11 rebounds. She hit 6 of 12 shots and 5 of 7 FTs.

Freshman sensation Rianna Gayheart has 12 points for Owen County, but hit just 2 of 13 shots. Eko Kemper led the Lady Rebels with 13 points. Samantha Toole was unstoppable on the inside in the first half, but struggled with foul trouble and was shut off the glass in the second half, finishing with 9 points and 8 rebounds.
