Final.

 

Huge win for the young Rebels against our nemesis for the next four years. This game was played at Danville High School in an impromptu District Tournament. We play Danville tomorrow night at 7:30 for the Freshman District Title.

 

We came out slow at the gates and got behind as much as 24-8, but good tough defense and Michael Arnett looking to score in the paint allowed us to get back in the game. Zach Hester hit his 2nd 3 pointer of the game for us to take the lead 36-35 and we never looked back. Great great win for the young Rebels and for their confidence as they are now starting to realize how good they can be when they protect the ball and play tough nosed defense. When you add Southwestern to the mix, I expect these 3 teams to be the strongest in the 12th region when these freshmen become seniors.

 

Chris Butler's sweet and deadly jumper was on display tonight as he finished with 9 points for Lincoln. R. Sharp had 11 points, I believe, and the headiness of Trent Edgington and his 5 points also led Lincoln.

 

Zach Hester finished with 12 points, Micah Satterly had 10, and his 2-3 pointers in the 1st quarter got us going after a sluggish start, and Michael Arnett also had 10 and came up big for us in the paint. Cody Cooper had 5 points and some timely rebounds and blocks and Kyle Rice hit a timely 3 pointer to round out the scoring for Boyle County.

 

Great great win. Now for revenge against Danville and our only loss of this season tomorrow night.

This brings our record to 8-1 and Lincoln falls to 11-4 I believe. I know they have only lost 4 games after tonight.

 

 

I thought it was a brilliant coaching job by Steve Adams' brother Darrell Adams and by Coach Webb tonight. I thought they did a great job of keeping the boys in the game mentally and by making the right coaching decisions to pull out the victory.

 

I am a very proud parent and fan tonight. I will sleep with a big grin on my face after pulling this one out.

That's the first time we played them this year. Football and Mother Nature ruined our previous two meetings.
