ColonelMike
Shelby's definitely down this year; although still dangerous, they're going to have a tough time winning the region in Sally Zimmerman's final year as coach. SK continues to cement their position as Region 8 favorite.
Ranger
First half was really strong by SK as they led 40-19. SK expaned the lead to 25 in the third. 4 players in double figures led by Tolliver with mid-20's, Wainscott, L. Figgins and Smith. I thought it was a very nice effort. Congrats Lady Pioneers. I don't think anyone is counting out the Rockets in their coach's final season.

ColonelMike
I've seen South Oldham, Oldham County, Anderson County, and Shelby County...also Trimble County, Owen County, and North Oldham...and right now, SK has got to be a HEAVY favorite after this convincing victory. I have not seen the two All-A finalists, Carroll County and Gallatin County, but you have to note that Shelby has already beaten Carroll County... and Gallatin already has five losses to 8th region teams... STILL...there's over a month left to play, and a lot can happen between now and the region 8 tournament, which will be held at South Oldham HS. SK wouldn't be the first "overwhelming" favorite to falter, should someone come up and knock them off... It's definitely too early to think about calling off the tournament and mailing the trophy to the Lady Pioneers!

I agree it is still really early to tell, but I'm pretty sure the pioneers wouldn't have a problem with recieving the trophy now. Crazy things do tend to happen at tourney time.
