Mason County 86 St. Patrick 44

Featured Replies

Final from the first round of the MCIT. 13 players hit the scoring column for the Royals, led by soph Neal Pawsat's 18 points and 10 boards. Nice for the JV and freshmen to get lots of minutes tonight.

St. Patrick's leading scorer in the game was Andy Clarke, who had 15. St. Pat was hampered a bit by very limited playing time for senior Matt Thompson, who was nursing an injury.

Next up for the Royals is Harrison County, who defeated Deming in the late game.

Possible Campbell County-Brossart matchup on the other side of the bracket; that one is always fun. Both teams have to get by their first-round games, though.

I don't think Mason County will be making any apologies for the MCIT. Three games in Daytona Beach in four days, followed by a 900-mile bus ride back on New Year's Eve, then the MCIT (first home game since December 9th); next game after the tourney is Scott County away.

Semis won't be bad and the finals could pair 2 of the top 3 in the 10th.Royals schedule has been very tough and gets even tougher so gotta have a few games like this to balance out things.

^ I'm guessing we were typing (if you can call it that; I can really crank it out at 30 words per minute) at the same time...
