Ouch !!! Birds will waltz through their district.

This game doesn't mean a darn thing. Bellevue depending on the district draw could easily represent this district in the 9th region tournament at Kentucky Bank Arena. Astonishing, but true.

Anything can happen in February, they have a target on their back. I have seen many teams that are ranked #1 fall at tourney time. Time will tell!:jump:

I don't care if they have pianos on their backs, they'll get out of this district.

It's just a shame that the 36th district doesn't seed like most of the districts.

Getting out of the district is not an accomplishment, getting out of the region is, and they haven't done that for some time. So until they prove they can do that, all the talk about their POTENTIAL the last 3 years is just that. I believe they have the best talent, but that doesn't always win.

The original quote by another poster was about Highlands sailing through the district tournament. It said nothing about the region. No one ever mentioned anything about winning the district tournament being an accomplishment nor did I comment in this thread about their potential of winning anything else. Obviously you had had some built up tension that you let loose. If that's the case I hope you feel better.

Your comment about geting through the district with piano's on their backs isn't a shot at the other teams? That's the point, Highland's fans have been taking shots at other 9th region teams for 3 years, but still haven't been in a regional final. My point is, accomplish something meaningful before belittling other teams.

Not sure about the sentiment in this thread - seems awful hostile...

Any irony that NCC rolled over Bellevue as well? It seems a trend...

Looking at their record, and the relatively slim margin of victory over three pretty awful programs (5.33ppg) and average margin of loss (36.5ppg) against programs that, while good, still haven't made it far in awhile; it makes you question if it does the Regional tournament any good to get Bellevue.

This is why the KHSAA is trying to eliminate 3 team districts. Once all districts have four or more schools, look for MANDATORY seeding.

I saw Newport earlier this week and to only come away from that game with a two point victory.... well, it may as well be a loss. Beechwood was their highest margin of victory and it was ONLY 9. (Beechwood's average margin of loss is 21.)

I'll finish with this point. For the last several years, Coach has relied on her very tall center. My perception is that the extra attention attributed, while I'm not saying is was not well spent, has detracted form other aspects of the ballclub that she now needs.

Not sure who your referring to regarding "Coach has relied on her and she now needsr" but theres a new coaching staff at Bellevue. Also, since basketball is not classed why would Bellevue want to seed in the district? With that being said they have an All A Classic but there are A and AA schools in this now. Regarding the Beechwood game and the point spread. Looks like the coach tries to get playing time for the entire bench since they are so inexperienced. If you were there Bellevue was up by 22 in the 4th quarter. As far as the average margin of loss of 36, its just not Bellevue, other teams playing Highlands or NCC have lost by the same amount. ie-Cambell County, Holy Cross, Brossart - check out box scores.

Have you actually been out yet to see Bellevue play?
