Hensley Rating System 4A Top 15 (2008 Edition #1)

Featured Replies

Ladies and gentlemen, it is once again that time of year for me to break out the Hensley Rating System for Kentucky high school football.

The Hensley Rating System is a simple system as it combines the power ratings from the Lexington Herald-Leader's Cantrall Ratings and the Louisville Courier-Journal's Litkenhous Ratings. Once those two are combined, the average is then taken and that average is the number that is used in the HRS.

This is something that I have done for that last couple of years for the playoffs and attempted to do last year during the regular season but my school work came in the way of constantly posting it.

Some of you may agree with how the standings for each class and the state come out while there will be others that disagree and say that your team should be higher. Please remember that this is just the average of the Lit and Cantrall Ratings.

Also, this should NOT be considered an official BGP poll/ranking OR how I think teams should be ranked. This is just something that I like to do in my spare time.

So with all of that out of the way, here is the Top 15 Hensley Rating for Class 4A:

1. Boyle County 102.45

2. Bell County 101.85

3. Lexington Catholic 97.40

4. Lone Oak 79.45

5. Fairdale 78.65

6. Marion County 77.70

7. Franklin-Simpson 77.55

8. Valley 76.15

9. Hopkins County Central 75.20

10. Allen County-Scottsville 74.30

11. Knox Central 73.85

12. Bullitt East 73.70

13. Rockcastle County 72.15

14. North Bullitt 71.65

15. Warren East 70.45

Looks good to me :ylsuper:

That is pretty interesting. Looks pretty good will have follow it on out.

The top three look very close.:thumb:

I agree :thumb: I think the top 3 teams would split 50/50 with each other in a 10 game series. Going to be very interesting come next month when the Win or go home games start.
