I express opinions about my kids' actions or outfits but I still support them. I still support the country even if I express concerns about our place in Iraq.

Those were harmless opinions. A "shot" would be what Biden is saying about Sen. McCain in regards to his position on the war. A "shot" would be that Sen. McCain is out of touch with the average voter since he has X number of houses. Those cited are not "shots."
