Frankly, I didn't expect such a blowout. But the Purples did us proud on this night!

Only 47 seconds into the game, senior QB J.P. Jackson hit junior RB Lavance Anderson with a 78 yard TD strike on the second play from scrimmage. Senior K "Automatic Max" Oldham booted the PAT, and BGHS had the early 7-0 lead. One minute and three seconds later, senior DB Jay Beard blocked a Gator punt and recovered it for a score. Oldham hit another PAT, and the Purples led 14-0. At 5:06 left in the first qtr, "Automatic Max" nailed a FG from 25 yards out to give the Purples a 17-0 lead. With 53 seconds left in the first qtr, senior RB Tevin Barksdale ran one in from ten yards out. Oldham hit the PAT again, and BGHS had a 24-0 lead. Finally, as time ran out in the first qtr, DB Tyreon Clark ran back an interception for a TD. Oldham kicked the PAT, and the Purples led 31-0 at the half.

With 10:50 left in the third qtr, Barksdale scored on a three yard run. Oldham booted the PAT again, and BGHS led 38-0. Oldham suffered an injury (I will not go into that until I hear something definite) when he attempted a punt and it was blocked. When he exited the game, he had 66 consecutive PATs, one short of the school record set by WKU Kicker Casey Tinius and seven short of the KHSAA record held by Lexington Catholic's Trip Eckerline. With 8:56 left to go in the game, RB Montel Carpenter scored on an eleven yard run. Senior K Zack Williams kicked the PAT, and the Purples led 45-0. An unidentified player scored from five yards out, Williams again booted the PAT, and the Purples led 52-0. At 1:07 left in the game, a Gator ran the ball over from three yards out. The PAT was good, and BGHS's lead was cut to 52-7. Then Barksdale rounded out the scoring when he tied the record for longest KO return with a 99 yard beauty. Williams once again booteb the PAT, and the Purples won 59-7.

Next week the Purples will travel across town to take on district rival Warren Central.:D

Don't remind me..... :creepy:

Well, good luck to your guys. We want the win, but, don't like to see anyone drop a game!

Good luck...we are hoping to come. How do we get into your alls stadium anyway. I have been by there before, but, did not see how to get to the field or where to park.

You'll probably want to get there early for parking. If you're coming off of Russellville Road, turn left like you were going to Roses and the parking lot will be dead ahead. The gate is to the left if you're facing the school at that point.

There shouldn't be anything that isn't wheelchair accessible at that point, but I don't know that there is any special wheelchair seating.

Thank you sooo much!! We will more than likely be there then! Hope to see you again if you are not too busy!

Again, good luck to your guys! I always want all teams to do great. These guys are not in it for the money....they are all in it for the love of the game!
