Hopkins County Central 25 Trigg County 0

Featured Replies

Trigg County has four more turnovers, 11 in three games. Trigg is shut out at home for the first time in nine years and suffers their first-ever loss to HCC. The Wildcats are 0-3 for the first time since 1988 and travel to Murray next week.

and Murray will be no picnic in the park by any means...On a positive note, the Wildcats have certainly not played a cupcake schedule as Hopkinsville, Calloway and Hopk Central are all solid football teams... I wouldn't be too shocked to see Hopk Central knock off Calloway and Lone Oak this year...They've got some talent and alot of folks feel this could be one of there best teams in a long time, possibly ever...

Hopkins Central was coming off of a very disappointing loss also to Madisonville. I wondered how they would respond. Their defense is very tough, they have played 12 quarters of regulation and yet to give up a touchdown. The only TD they have given up was in overtime.

Trigg has explosive backs in the backfield and might find themselves throwing the ball less and less in the season. Bridges is very quick and only needs a crack to get thru and go score. Storm defense has never been better.

Hopkins Central did a good job of taking away Trigg's deep pass and the linebackers defended the middle screen well. They are fast enough to keep Trigg from getting outside on them. Only thing left is to line up seven in the box and tackle Trigg when they ran up the middle. I agree. Hop Central's defense is very stout this year. Better defense than Calloway County. I just don't understand why they don't run Couch more.

Good question. He might be getting his number called more and more as the season goes. Storm travel to Boonville Indiana next week, should be an interesting trip.

Trigg had some sucess with the direct snap to Bridges. The play was more successful when the QB was not in the backfield. Storm shut it down when he was back there. But when it was only Bridges, it was a bit harder. Is he capable of making a pass?

Not really. Calloway did that last week with Willis. They put Brockman the QB in the slot and had some success.

Couch gets to the corner quicker than any back I've seen in a while. I don;t know if Snodgrass didn't want to show too much, but Couch and Powell should have the number of carries reversed.

I think that will happen, Couch twins are still having medical issues also. Hopefully as the season goes and the weather begins to cool, they will have more touches.

Stepscalled hit the nail. Its not a serious condition but with cooler weather coming they will get more touches. You want to save your legs for the most important games coming up.
