Bush shows some humor.

 

Weekly World News featured a photograph of Bush shaking hands with an alien and the headline that SPACE ALIENS BACKS BUSH FOR PRESIDENT.

 

Bush said it was further proof that the Republican Party had wide appeal.

 

"New faces, new voices. It goes to show I'm willing to reach across certain demographic lines."

Jay Leno pointed out that Dole, Phil Gramm and Newt Gingrich's first marriages all ended in divorce.

 

"Wouldn't it be funny, if, of all the candidates, Bill Clinton had the best marriage?"

Carol Moseley Braun, the first black female senator commenting on the Supreme Court decision that decided the 2000 election.

 

"It was the black vote that decided the 2000 election --- Clarence Thomas."

Al Sharpton at a Democrat debate,

 

"We've been told we had 3 minutes. My good friend Senator Edwards spoke for 5. So Joe Lieberman told me that, in the spirit of affirmative action, I get 7."

 

 

Another from Big Sharp Daddy throwing Democrats under the bus....

 

"The next time anybody wants to know about Tawana Brawley, I'm going to ask them, 'Do you ask Teddy Kennedy about Chappaquiddick? Do you ask Hillary Clinton about her husband?"

About Bush's trickle down economics, Kerry quipped,

 

"I believe every worker in America is tired of being trickled on by George W Bush."

Good easy read of a book. The ones I posted are about 1/100th of the ones in the book.

Mike Royko about Dole's public image:

It's Dole's misfortune that when he does smile, he looks as if he's just evicted a widow.

 

Mike Royko had one of the sharpest, most cynical wits that I have ever heard.
