Some more from late night reading.

Morris King "Mo" Udall was asked in 1980 if he would consider running again for president. He responded:

"If nominated, I will run to Mexico; if elected, I will fight extradition."

When asked his best qualification for being president, Reagan said, "I'm not smart enough to lie."

Reagan on taxes:

"Republicans believe every day is the 4th of July, but the Democrats believe every day is April 15th."

Mondale said of Reagan:

"You have got to be careful quoting Rondald Reagan, because when you quote him accurately it is called mudslinging."

How ironic this was in 1988.

Someone in the crowd screamed at Al Gore, then a senator from TN, that he would make the perfect VP instead of president, he responded:

"That was the ultimate heckle."

It must be a hereditary thing as Daddy Bush had some winners in the book, here is one...

"Michael Dukakis speaks Spanish. I wish I did. But I have 3 grandchildren, my blood coursing through their veins, who are half Mexican."

Clinton was introduced as the smartest of the Democratic presidential candidates, he said:

"Isn't that like calling Moe the most intelligent of the 3 Stooges?"

Might be the reason why I voted for Ross Perot.

When he had admonished his own company's executives that adulterers would be weeded out, Perot said, "How can I trust you if your wife can't trust you?"

I need an amen from the choir on this one.

1992 election it seemed illegal immigration was an issue and Pat Buchanan had a plan.

"I will stop this massive illegal immigration cold. Period. Paragraph. I'll build that security fence, and we'll close it and we'll say, 'Listen Jose, you're not coming in!'"

Was he ahead of his time?????

Daddy Bush on his two Democrat opponents knowledge of foreign affairs.

My dog Millie knows more about foreign affairs than these two bozos.

Ronald Reagan:

This fellow (Clinton) they've nominated claims he's the new Thomas Jefferson. Well, let me tell you something, I knew Thomas Jefferson. He was a friend of mine, and Governor, you're no Thomas Jefferson.

Mike Royko about Dole's public image:

It's Dole's misfortune that when he does smile, he looks as if he's just evicted a widow.

Only in Washington would anyone call the IRS a 'service.'

Bob Dole pulling out what comes out as a creepy statement from an old man.

"You can see through that like you can Jennifer Lopez' dress."

Gore with a pretty creative one.

I did think it was effective when I weaved in stories of real people from the audience and their everyday challenges. Like the woman here tonight whose husband is about to lose his job, she is struggling to get out of public housing and get a job on her own.

Hillary Clinton, I want to fight for you!!!
