I was looking at the HCHS schedule and saw that they have an open date on October 3rd and 10th.

 

Johnson Central, if I'm not mistaken also has an open date on the 10th.

 

Would Harlan County and JC want to play?

 

Just trying to see who we could add to our schedule because of Powell County dropping us.

 

Harlan County and Bell County have October 3rd open...Boy, wouldn't that be something???

 

Knox Central has the 10th...It seems like HCHS could get a game with someone. Maybe they are waiting to see what Powell decides to do.

Tates Creek has October 3rd.

 

Pikeville October 10th.

 

Prestonsburg October 3rd.

 

North Laurel, future district opponent...October 10th.

 

I understand that some teams want an Open Date to help with injuries, etc. It just seems to me that there are teams out there. Is it too late in the year to schedule???

Everyone has an open date. You're only allowed 10 games over 11 weeks. If those teams don't have two open dates, they can't play.

I knew that there was a reason. Just hoping it wasn't that. Thanks HDE.

To add what HDE stated, KHSAA hasn't updated that list in a while either. All of those schools are filled. There is no school in Kentucky that has an open date the same as Harlan County currently. The word has been spread for months now and no takers because everyone has already scheduled their games. School always list 2 open dates because they need just one game, when one of those dates are filled they leave the other for their open date of the year.
