In looking at the past weeks coaches poll, why is Simon Kenton not listed. The Lady Pioneers are 23-4 before their game with Grant County for the 32nd district championship.

 

They are mentioned in the "Others receiving Votes" about 3 weeks ago, but have disappeared from there. They have not lost a game Since April 7th and have had 27 fewer runs scored on them from #15 Anderson County and 33 less runs scored on them from #20, Shelby County. That's a 19 game winning streak.

 

Even Owensboro Catholic has lost 2 games in the past week!!!

 

No respect. I really feel they'll get some next week during the 8th Region tourney!!!!

Because of who they play mostly I would say .They have played some good teams but the teams in that district are not that strong .I would have to look at exactly who all they have played but I think it would be weaker than some or most or all of the teams you mentioned.

You have to put the blame on the coaches in Northern Kentucky. By not voting for the team with the second best record in your area and the longest winning streak in the state, you are proving what everybody else in the state already thinks....this is the worst area in the state for softball and nobody knows anything about it or cares. Look at the local coaches poll in the Enquirer for your proof. Conner 18-11, Simon Kenton 23-4 and Simon Kenton 2-0 against Conner, yet Conner is still ranked 2nd and Simon Kenton 3rd and it isn't even close. After this season for Ryle we probably won't see a Northern Kentucky team in the top 25 for a long time.

Simond Kenton is a very good team, Jamie Baker is one of the best coaches in the state, but some coaches don't vote for them because they are not in the 9th region.

I looked at their schedule. That is why they aren't getting many votes. Unless I am mistaken, I only saw 1 team that was ranked when they played them, South Laurel, and SL beat SK 8-1. South is now in the getting votes category, but is as talented as any team I have seen when they come to play.

 

If you look at the top teams in the state, most all of them have 10-20 ranked teams on their schedule. I am not saying that SK is not a very good team, ... it looks like they are. However, if you want to be one of the big boys (or girls in this case), you have to schedule them and play them. It also forces you to step up your game come tournament time as you have been tested.

I agree Thunder it would have been nice to see a few more top twenty teams on their schedule. I don't think you can pick the South game out either and make a decision. South lost to Madison Southern right before the SK game and I sure wouldn't judge their team on that game. The problem I have with SK not getting any votes is the Northern Kentucky teams should be supporting one of their own. SK also beat Ryle last year with basically the same team.

If SK wants to get votes they need to get out in the state and play in some of the better tourn. Go to North or South Laurel, or go to Montgomery or GRC. You will not get many votes until you beat some teams that are getting votes.
