Williamsburg 8, Middlesboro 7

Featured Replies

Williamsburg advances in the All "A" Tournament. The Yellow Jackets take on Harlan tonight at 5:30 in Harlan. Good Luck Jackets!

The game was one of the best games I've seen. Both teams had trouble getting their bats going, although the score may not reflect this. W'burg made quite a few base-running errors, but refused to give up. The Barton kid came on to pitch in the 5th with runners on and shut M'boro down. You would have never believed he is an eighth grader with the way he handled the pressure. He had an outstanding pitching performance. W'burg showed some grit and pulled this one out in extra-innings. Congratulations Jackets!

What region is this?

Wow impressive that Williamsburg pulled this one out. Not only is Middlesboro a good fastball hitting team but Williamsburg lost a lot of talent losing Catcher Aaron Root and Geoffrey Witt. Both were above average hitters and went on to play college ball i believe. Congrats to the jackets for pulling this one out.

Conlin had a big game. He picked up the win, scored the winning run, had two rope base hits and made a tremendous catch on a sinking line drive. No I'm not his mother. Barton kid showed tremendous amount of composure for an 8th grader.Coach Strickland seems to be able to will his kids to win the last couple of years.
