cooperstown Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Anyone supprised? The Enquirer, since they had Scott ranked #7 and St. Henry #15 (although to be fair, it was the coaches who did the voting).
Diamond Dandy Posted March 25, 2008 Author Posted March 25, 2008 The Enquirer, since they had Scott ranked #7 and St. Henry #15 (although to be fair, it was the coaches who did the voting). LOL.....take it easy on the Enquirer boys, it's hard enough to get ink. That's some funny stuff though, I don't care who yar.
ukfan14 Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I think that Saint Henry is the best team in Northern Kentucky....they have some studs on the mound with smith, stiene, and bowen (two lefties(?)). They have some good hitters like smith, porque(?), and hitchcock (average of 410, led the team) and speed. Porque had a big hit to knock in two runs and hitchcock with a big two out hit to the right field gap with bases loaded. Speed chipped in with 2 singles and 3 stolen bases. I think Saint Henry has a chance to suprise some people and have some good experience on the varsity level that can do some damage. Alan "chuck wagon" Smith should of went to Saint Henry to throw, and could of got some good pointers from a pro pitcher.

Cardinal Fan Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 I think that Saint Henry is the best team in Northern Kentucky. Wow bold statement.. I think this is a great win for them but I dont see them making region again this year.

Andrew Hitchcock is a decent player but his attitude toward his teammates has been very poor. The kid gets very upset and i have seen him throw his helmet many times, this should be corrected and his attitude needs to change. You cant have your varsity player acting like a baby. And your statement about getting pointers from a pro pitcher... That is just ignorant. Coach Myerhoff is a better coach than Terrell, he surrounds himself with good coaches, especially JV coach Bob Mullins. He is the reason that the varsity kids come in knowing a lot and this is a big reason of Beechwood's success. Plus i think AJ smith would rather be on a team that has a chance of winning the 9th region rather than St. Henry who is an extreme long shot to win the 9th and wont even compete for the district championship.
SirMixAlot Posted March 25, 2008 Posted March 25, 2008 Who pitched for Scott? Adams pitched 3 or 4 and gave up three runs, I wasn't at the game but I heard his velocity is off and his control wasn't there. Adkins pitched the last 3 or 4 gave up 2 earned 2 unearned. Also heard he couldn't get his off speed stuff going. Hopefully it was the cold weather. I know this was Adams first game pitched in close to a year, and Adkins has only practice for a week and a day. Maybe that had something to do with it.
