The 6th region reps half of the Louisville teams. The 6th region was probably about the 5th or 6th best region in the state. Central was not one of the top 3 teams in the 6th region, but upsets do occur and Central did benefit from those upsets and greater parity.

 

The 7th region had 5 top 20 teams. Don't think you can honestly sandwich the 7th region in with the 6th to call Louisville down this year.

 

Central was very up and down this year but actually... Central beat Butler, Prp & Fairdale to win the 6th (3 tough games). During the regular season they actually played the best in the 7th region tough... they lost to Manual by 4, ballard by 1 and beat Male by 8. They had a bad stretch during Christmas... but I'll take that bad stretch to win the 6th.

A lot of Owensboro fans had been waitin for the drought of losing the first day at state to end. Personally I under estimated OHS! Huge exposure for Brock Moorman! Folks around the state got to see a looked over talent. I think after 2 yrs. at a juco he'll play in the OVC. Have a lot of family at Central that felt they had more talent (which may be true) but I think Owensboro had better basketball players. Can't take anything away from the year Central had though, the 6th region is no joke. Congrats to the Red Devils on a great season!
