St. X will be officially announcing shortly the start of constuction of its new 2000 seat arena for basketball, which will also serve as an activity center. It awaits the permits now. Completion will take about 10 months. This is the last phase of Project X. It will be adjacent to the football stadium, and I believe attached to the new fieldhouse.

From that time line the new arena will not open until early 2009.(mid season)

Can they put enough fans in their new home?

If the new coach begins a new winning tradition they can. The school is putting a lot of effort into building the program and is taking the time to find the right coach.
