Raceland (17-12) and Russell (17-9) will play again this year for the 63rd District Championship on Thursday night (2/28).

Both once again have good basketball teams and both are very well coached. Raceland stopped Russell's string of district titles last season and look to repeat as champions.

What are everyones thoughts and predictions on this one?

Will be a good game. If Vanderhoof was 100 %, I think Raceland wins . But , not at 100, I think its a toss up. I still pick Rams, but in a close one.

Raceland will have to take care of the basketball and must play well in transition defense as Russell is a very athletic team.

Rams must also get everyone involved on the offensive side.

Free throws may be the difference in this one.

Raceland under the excellent coaching of Bob Trimble will "eek" this one out and get a repeat on the 63rd district title. Vanderhoof is not at 100% but her absolute will and leadership is the difference :thumb:.

Russell 48

Raceland Boys and Girls complete a 63rd district sweep!

I'll take my Lady Rams in a close one. Russell beat them earlier in the season and they are hungry for a win and back to back district titles. They have stepped up their individual abilities in the absence of Hoof and with Hoof back in the lineup, they are a better team than when they played Russell in the regular season.

Coach Kidwell will have the girls fire out of the gate in this one after the first half performance against Lewis. Russell by 8.

Russell will be fired up for this one as they try to bring the district crown back to it's home;) Should be a dandy though, these teams are very close in every position. Look for an unsung to come up big in this one (not necessarily mine either Billy:sssh:!)

Good (and bad) to see Vanderhoof playing...GREAT kid!

:thumb: Very good post imo. I think that tempo will be the key to this one. Should Raceland get the game that they want, imo they will win. Should Russell get to run what they want at will then it may be a long night for the Lady Rams.

Lil Devil Dad we believe that the 63rd district trophy is exactly where it should be and is finally home :p. :thumb:.

May both teams stay injury free in this one and good luck to both in the region (unless we should meet again in the region and then I will have to pull my good luck wishes for Russell in that one :D:thumb:)
