Lion Mania
If the KHSAA scoreboard is correct little Burgin beat cross county rival Mercer last night 78-73 in Mercer's gym. Burgin is an independent school with only about 300 kids in K-12 and Mercer County has 1,000 in High School alone. Congrads to the Lady Bulldogs on a big win. Bev Harris must be one of the best players in the 12th Region. Next up is a shot at home on Thursday against 20-1 Casey County. TRIVIA Question: Has Burgin ever been to the Sweet Sixteen. ANSWER: Yes in 1938 led by former UL and NBA St. Louis Hawks player 6'8" Jack Coleman they made the Sweet Sixteen his Junior year. Got upset his senior year. gchs_uk9
You're mixing genres, right? The Burgin girls beat Mercer last night, right? The Burgin boys are who made the state tournament trip. I know you said it, but don't want anyone to be confused! If the KHSAA is right, this is a big upset.
U Reach I Teach
The score is right! All-State candidate Bev Harris of Burgin High School scored 48 points I believe. She is definately an All-State player who gets very little exposure because of playing at a class a school. Coaches take notice... this girl can play!
