Fleming led 17-9 after one, 32-24 at the half.

Bracken closes within five after 3, 42-37.

 

Bracken came up short in the end but I hear it was a battle.

Bet there were a few few stomps from the Fleming Bench.

Know you should not go to an away game and expect very much in the way of any calls but my goodness. This game was nothing but a gang war without the knives and clubs. Not one to blame losses on officiating and I won't here. Bracken County did not do much in the way of helping theirselves tonight. But I will say that this game was very close to being out of hand several times. And that can attributed to officiating. Those in stripes have to established control of a game or you get what this one turned into. I will say the stripes did manage to keep the Fleming County student body off the floor tonight but that was about all they controled !

Going to Fleming, I guarantee you will be a war. Coach Orem teaches in your face, physical defense. Many moons ago when they were still in the 10th, them and Campbell (also known for a physical aggressive defense) combined for over 80 free throws. One of the longest games ever.

One of my favorite Coach Orem stories was watching them play in the region vs. Harrison County and Coach Whitaker ran a great OB play against them.

 

I immediately copied it and put in our game plan.

 

That summer we scrimmaged, ran it against her and she stomped her foot and said, "hey that's Mac's play, he ran against us." I replied, "Where do you think I saw it?"

 

Great young lady. I enjoyed coaching against her.

She is a very good coach and loves the game and her players, I love her passion. She isn't afraid to mix it up with anybody, didn't matter if it is a coach or a ref--and I mean that as a compliment. I enjoyed watching her coach when they were in the 10th and I saw more of them. She is very serious about her job and works her rear end off for her program!!!:thumb:

 

Now LLBC, don't age some of us w/that "many moons" ago statement about Fleming and the 10th region!!! :laugh:

I was at the game and the officials called 48 fouls. How could the be letting the game get out of control. If anything I thought there were some tight calls.
