Does anyone have a legitimate shot at knocking off PRP in the district or regionals? It seems it will come down to pitching. Strong odds are that PRP can't be beaten in the 6th with Cox on the mound. But, what if they save him for the regional final or use him in the semis, does anyone in the 6th have a pitcher that gives them a shot to beat the Panthers? Who will PRP's #2 pitcher be and will he be strong enough to beat any 6th region team's #1 anyway? I know they're young, but right now I'd give Bullit East the best shot at pulling off an upset. Bowles and Alphin are now battled tested sophmores and may have just enough junk in the arsenal to keep PRP's bats from their usual eruptions. But, if I were a betting man I'd need at least 30/1 odds to lay any money against the Panthers for repeating as Region 6 Champs. They have too many weapons on offense, their defense is usually nothing less than spectacular and they are extremely well coached.

What about defensively, to you feel they are solid enough as team and if so, they have a legitimate chance to contend for the title.

That's a good question...I don't know the answer. I'm not real familiar with the senior class BE has coming back. I hope to see them whey they play St.X this year and I'll give a more educated response.

Parkway, again, poses the "million dollar question." Can anyone knock off PRP? PRP has won the region the last 2 years, but had a drought for about 5 years before that. With Cox, the Bainer twins, Osbourne, and some very talented younger players (Banks, Hockman, others.), it will be extremely difficult to defeat PRP for the 6th region championship. I think the better question will be, "Will Bill Miller retire if PRP makes a long run in the state tournament?" PRP always reloads, but it will be hard to replace Cox and Osbourne, and include the Bainer twins.
