From the Bird Cage Liner.

Highlands senior guard Greg McGraw scored 24 points to lift the Bluebirds to a 65-62 victory over Conner in the Kenton County Invitational Tournament at Dixie Heights.

Sophomore guard Stephen Kowolonek added 15 points for the Bluebirds, ranked No. 2 in the Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll.

Conner senior center Micah Pugh led his team with 24 points. Senior guard Eric Thomas added 15 points for the Cougars, including 10 in the fourth quarter.

Nice to have at least ONE of the studs back and playing! Tough little stretch here should prepare the young Birds for what will be needed come tourney time!!

Conner needs someone other than Pugh and Thomas to step up and help with the scoring.
