The Rockets jumped out to an 18-3 lead after the first quarter, but Grant County held their own in the remaining three quarters, keeping the lead at 15 to the final horn.

Grant was down as much as 22 at 44-22, but came back after hitting a few 3 pointers in the second half. Grant outscored Shelby in the second half.

Grant County will face Henry County in the next round of the Henry County invitational, while Shelby will take on Oldham County. Both games tomorrow.

Shelby actually led this one 28-3 with about 2-3 minutes left in the first half. Shelby's coach put in his entire JV squad and Grant went on to outscore them 9-4 for the rest of quarter. Half time score was 32-12 and Shelby was listless for the entire second half. Hard to blame them this game was ugly from the jump. Shelby's student section did start a "We want the varsity" chant when it was obvious that these two teams were on different levels. Not very classy, but funny all the same.

Shelby vs Oldham tonight... Shelby in a blow out!!!

Correct time for tonights game is 6.30 correct????

Shelby vs Oldham tonight... Shelby in a blow out!!!

You truly don't know anything about the game.

Shelby vs Oldham tonight... Shelby in a blow out!!!

That is a very BOLD prediction. Shelby did not exactly blow out Grant County. Anything could happen , but the Clark/Forrest factor alone would not allow for a blow out even if Shelby had tons more talent. We really should get back on topic.:thumb:

One point is not a blow out. I agree with "theoldcoach".

Poor free throw shooting kept your prediction from happening Crestwood. I would have to agree with you Shelby is the better "team" which is something that they have seemed to lack in recent years. Also they play with four sophs and four seniors. Impressive to say the least.
