Who are the D1 players from the last 25 years?

Ben Bowling PCC signed with Tulane

Jon Bentley signed with Marshall then transfered to Eku.

Shannon Hoskins played untill junior year for M.C. Napier then went to Clay Co. signed with South Carolina

Cecil Clair could have played for U of L, but decided aginst it. He wound up at MSU.

Estill had one D1 player in the early 90's; Brian Kiser who played for Denny Crum @ Louisville. Of course, at that time, Estill was not yet a member of the 14th.

I don't think there's been very many D-1 players over the last 25 years, or dating back to the early '80s, in the 14th. Shannon Hoskins played for a while at South Carolina but ended up at Georgetown College. PCC's Ben Bowling was at Tulane for a while. Bentley of Hazard played for EKU. Estill County's Brian Kiser played for Louisville, but Estill wasn't a member of the 14th then.

 

It seems that the '50s through the mid '70s turned out more D-1 talent than today, or at least mid-major D-1. Johnnie Cox of Hazard starred at UK. Lee County's Larry Stamper played for UK. Breathitt's Cecil Clair played for Morehead. Breathitt's Arch Johnson at Morehead. Breathitt's Larry Noble at Austin Peay. MC Napier's Glen Napier played at Morehead. MC Napier's Denny Fugate played at Virginia Commonwealth and EKU. Lee County's Parke Congleton played at Old Dominion. Owsley County's Paul Smith played for Mississippi State. Knott Central's Herbie Stamper starred at Morehead, and I think his brother later played there too. I'm sure Carr Creek's Glen Combs played somewhere because he later played in the pros. Hazard's Jim Rose on a Final Four team at WKU. Wolfe County's Steve Johnson played for Cornell. Powell County's Winfred Hughes played for Morehead.

I'm sure there's many more that I'm forgetting. Maybe someone can add to the list.
